NOW OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS
River Valley Film Festival (RVFF) is proud to announce that they are officially open for submissions for their first annual festival. The festival’s inaugural year will take place at the AMC Williamsport 11 in Downtown Williamsport, PA from July 9, 2020 to July 12, 2020.
RVFF hopes to highlight Williamsport’s rich history and culture. While Williamsport is known around the world as the birthplace of Little League Baseball and the annual host the Little League World Series in August, the city is also home to unique logging history, where the city once had more millionaires per capita than any other city in the world. Because of this illustrious history, the city is full of beautiful architecture and a wonderful community that makes it a perfect place to reach into an untapped market.
RVFF was founded by Cory Baney and Claire Mattis. Cory was born and raised in Williamsport, PA and has always loved the beauty and history of the city. He has worked with film festivals, as well as in independent film publicity for over five years. While his work mostly focuses on independent films, he has also been crucial on Oscar campaigns for international features working with Phase 2 PR. With his dedication to helping independent filmmakers, the clear next step was to start a film festival to take this passion to the next level, providing the platform for those same filmmakers to showcase their work.
RVFF has named Claire Mattis, formerly General Manager at DWF-LA, as Director of Operations. Claire has been working in the film festival world for over 10 years across the US, including work with festivals such as Heartland International Film Festival, Florida International Film Festival, and Dances With Film (now DWF-LA). Claire’s affection for independent film has always driven her, and she’s loves exposing upcoming filmmakers to new audiences. With her knowledge of film, the inner workings of film festivals, and passion for helping independent filmmakers, she’s an integral member of the RVFF team.
